代々伝わる古の巫女の所作を元に
最古の書物『古事記』や『日本書紀』など
歴史文学に描かれし姫巫女のご生涯や
神話、伝承を表した舞です。
Oldest Japanese princess dance~MIYANOMAI
Based on the ancient rituals of the priestesses passed down through generations, this dance depicts the life of the princess priestesses portrayed in historical literature such as the oldest texts 'Kojiki' and 'Nihon Shoki', as well as myths and legends.
「 天岩戸 」
～日本の主神・天照大御神様と八百万の神々
天照大神様は太陽神の性格と、巫女の性格を併せ持つ女神。
天照大御神は、太陽の神様とも表される、
日本の主神であらせられます。
最も有名な神話の一つ、天岩戸を表しました。
「AMANOIWATO」
This story is about from a mythology that to make Amaterasu Oomikami came out from a rock cave.
Amanoiwato story is one of the most famous story.

The younger brother of the deity Amaterasu, the god of fierce storms and tempests, Susanoo no Mikoto was cast down from the heavens to the earth due to the sins of his violent behavior, and he encountered the extraordinarily beautiful Inada-hime. When she was about to be swallowed by the massive monster, the eight-headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi, he saved her after swearing an oath to marry her. The two of them built the first shrine in Japan in the land of Suga, and Susanoo no Mikoto transformed from a fierce god into a beloved hero deity. The divine sword that emerged from the tail of the Yamata-no-Orochi that Susanoo no Mikoto defeated is the Kokonoe no Tsurugi, one of the three sacred treasures.

闇夜に輝ける月のような美しさと、
男に勝る強さを持ちたる、
日本武尊様のお妃様。
日本武尊様より授けられし
「三種の神器・草薙剣」を
80猶予年も守り抜かれた
熱田神宮の御祭神であられます。
「Pray~princess Miyazu」
Princess MIYAZU was so beautiful and shining like the moon in the dark night. and she was a wife of Yamato-takeru, one of the most famous leader in Japan, Princess MIYAZU built the Atsuta-Jingu-shrine to worship him and the kusanagi-sword. And She devoted her entire life to protect the shrine and the sword for over 80 years.

「 必勝祈願 」
～八幡宮御祭神・神功皇后様
八幡大神(応神天皇）御母堂様
八幡大神・応神天皇の御生母様。
日本武尊の皇子、仲哀天皇の妻であられ、神の神託を受ける姫巫女であられました。
神功皇后は、夫亡き後、臨月を迎えるお身体で自ら将軍として軍を率い、三韓征伐を成し遂げられます。

「Pray for victory Empress Jingu」
Empress Jingu was the enshrined deity of Hachiman-shrine which had fourty six thousand shrines nationwide. and she was the mother of emperor Ojin as the god Hachiman and a wife of emperor Chuai, the prince of Yamatotakeru. She was also a princess to protect the country with the oracle. Empress Jingu is the mother of Japan.

「Bu-no-mai」
This is a dance that is the heart and soul of the samurai family who lives together with their people from all over the country making a daily life and rejoice in a harvest , and hold festivals to make enrich their hearts.

In this human world where the spirits of "good and evil" and "demons and Buddhas" mingle, this dance relies on the gods and Buddhas to give the strength to survive.

A dance to be passed down to children, depicting "Otogi-zoshi" and "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," which are traditional Japanese folk tales passed down to the present day.

「Princess Toyotama」
Toyotama no Himeuta This represents Princess Toyotama, who is said to be the model for Otohime-sama of the Dragon Palace. This dance is also a prayer for safe delivery. The womb that nurtures the child for 10months is likened to the mother sea and It means "May the little ones have a wonderful life! Today, Shrine maiden Ai, with a 7-month-old baby in her belly, will dance.

御伽草子「浦島太郎」に描かれる
竜宮城の乙姫様の乙姫様のモデルともいわれる
豊玉姫様を表す舞。
「安産祈願」も込められています。
我が子を10月10日育む子宮は、
母なる海と例えられ、幼き命に
素晴らしい人生がありますように。
という意味が込められいます。
